Pastor Taiwo Odukoya received an award of exemplary leadership from the Grace Springs Cooperative Multipurpose Society on Thursday, May 9, 2019. The award was presented to him in his office by the first President, Pastor Nomthi Odukoya, the General Secretary, Pastor Biodun Soderu; Treasurer, Pastor Tinuke Olashore; financial secretary, Mrs. Osoka Cecilia and other representatives of the Cooperative.

Pastor Taiwo Odukoya is the Visioneer of the Cooperative society which started in 2012, to empower both members of The Fountain of Life Church and the public, and has supported its growth in all ramifications till date.

Responding to the award, Pastor Taiwo appreciated the gesture of the Cooperative and prayed for a better future for the Society.

Meanwhile, the Cooperative declared her surplus for 2018 to the members at her 6th Annual General Meeting (AGM) which held on Saturday, April 27 at the main auditorium of the church. According to the General Secretary of the Society, Pastor Biodun Soderu, the Society had a net profit of N16, 651,016, which is a 31 percent increase over the previous year’s N12, 716,919.

While commending the efforts of the members in making the cooperative progress, he said that the society has been experiencing increase since it was birthed. He said: “Our 2018 surplus of N16, 651,016 is a 31 percent increase over the previous year’s N12, 716,919. This could not have been achieved without the active participation of each and every one of you. Since we started, there is no year we have not declared a profit, and it has always been increasing. God has been faithful to us.”

Pastor Biodun further stated that the cooperative which is in its seventh year of existence now boasts of over 1,300 members which cut across denominations.

While addressing the members, the president of the society, Pastor Adekunle Areogun commended their efforts and cooperation with the executive to make the society what it is today. He urged them to make use of the schemes and benefits of the cooperative. “It is important to ensure we sustain our profitability through increased membership, savings, and profitable wealth creation initiatives,” he said.

Speaking at the AGM, the representatives of Director of Cooperatives at the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Cooperatives, Mr. Kolawole Abimbola, commended the leadership of the Grace Springs Cooperatives Multipurpose Society, for being prudent.

He urged members to patronize the Cooperative more and bring in more members, and to access loans more from the cooperative because that guarantees higher dividends at the end of the year.

Members of the society were also encouraged to bring innovative business ideas that will create opportunities for the society.
