Pastor Nomthi at the October 10 Thursday Showers service shared from Mark 4:35-37, and asked the congregation not to feel discouraged or despondent when faced or hit with the storms of life because Jesus is with them. She told them that people, including believers, go through different storms of life just like Jesus and His disciples did in the reference scripture.
When they called on Jesus however, she said, He calmed the storm and there was peace. But that did not remove the fact that there was still some residue of water from the sea in the boat until they got to their destination, she added.
Pastor Nomthi stated that, as believers, Jesus might have calmed the storm in our lives but there could still be some residues of the storm which we carry around. “Sometimes, when people see you, they can tell you went through a storm in life,” she said. But once the storm has been calmed, she urged them to be deliberate in cleaning out any residues in their lives by praising, worshipping and praying. “You will praise and pray till your ‘boat’ is dry,” she said.
