Abraham and Sarah Fellowship Holds Thanksgiving Week

The Abraham and Sarah fellowship of The Fountain of Life Church held her annual thanksgiving week to appreciate God for His goodness and benefits in the year as well as share with others. The three-day event took place on Wednesday, December 4 with a special visit to the blind home at Capa-Oshodi and Little Saints Orphanage at Palm-Groove Estate, Ilupeju where foodstuff and other materials were distributed. The event continued on Thursday, December 5 with a song presentation at the Thursday Showers service which held at the main auditorium of the church, after which they visited the Old People’s Home at Yaba where items were also shared.

The grand finale of the event took place on Friday, December 6 with a love feast at the church’s multipurpose hall. Prayers were said for the nation, the states, the body of Christ, The Fountain of Life Church, the Pastorate and their families.

Giving a short word of admonition at the event was Pastor Dapo Williams who represented the Senior Pastor, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya. In his message, Pastor Dapo said that Joy is a settled assurance that God is in control and that everything will be alright. This confidence, he said, comes from the knowledge which is found is Christ, noting that an ungrateful heart is evil and would be difficult for such a heart to have joy. “A grateful heart will have a continual feast.”

He further noted from Isaiah 61:1-7 that God desires a grateful heart, adding that restoration and completeness will be added to any grateful heart. He further told the senior citizens that prioritising evangelism, giving, sowing seeds of righteousness and joy to other’s lives, and showing mercy to others are the catalysts to experiencing double honour. He, therefore, urged them from Luke 17:1-10 to remove offences and unforgiveness from their lives if they want to enjoy joy and double honour. “If you can learn to forgive people and be grateful, you will experience the miraculous”

Pastor Biodun Soderu, who was also at the event, led the fellowship in praying for the Senior Pastor and his family members as well as other pastors in The Fountain of Life Church and their families. Prayers were also offered for members of the church.

Professor Felicia Oyekan, while giving the vote of thanks, appreciated God for all His goodness over all members of the fellowship. The chairman of the fellowship then prayed for the continuation of such blessings and benefits from above. She encouraged members to encourage other members of the main church who are over 55 to join the fellowship. She wished them Merry Christmas.

There were testimonies from members after which the event closed with love feast and merry-making.
