Pastor Taiwo Teaches on the Law of the Spirit of Life

Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, in his message at the July 9 Thursday Showers service, told the participants that anyone who accepts Christ’s work of redemption has crossed over from the law of sin and death to the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, noting that such a believer, therefore, lives above the law of sin, death, sorrow and everything the devil unleashes on the world just as Romans 8:1-2 declares.

According to him, the law of sin and death holds one captive through guilt but the law of life in Christ Jesus sets free from that guilt. This, he explained, can happen when one focuses on the word of God. “You can stay victorious over the law of sin and death if you can latch on to the law of life in Christ Jesus,” he said.

Pastor Taiwo further said that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus supersedes the law of sin and death just as the law of aerodynamics supersedes the law of gravity. This is why, according to him, anyone who accepts the life in Christ crosses from the laws of the flesh, sin and mind which lead to the law of sin and death to the law of the Spirit of life in Christ which brings one to freedom (Romans 7:22- 23).

Pastor Taiwo also explained that one needs to have a proper understanding of this law of freedom in Christ and also appropriate it well by continuous confession to be able to enjoy it, noting that this freedom in Christ is not a license to careless living.

He, therefore, urged his listeners/viewers to accept the freedom in the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, to help them overcome sin and its guilt, including death. “Every characteristic of sin is subdued and defeated once the law of the spirit of life in Jesus sets in. So, you can live above the law of death and be a blessing to your spouse and generations when you apply this knowledge,” he urged.
