Pastor Taiwo Odukoya has reassured believers of God’s faithfulness, describing it as one character of God that keeps men bewildered. He made the comment in his sermon during the November 5 Thursday Showers. “It is one attribute of God that will continue to puzzle men,” he said.
Taking his Bible reference from Psalm 89:28-35, he noted that God’s covenant on His children disallows suffering in their lives irrespective of their misbehaviour, stressing that with such assurance, a man is settled for life. He, however, reminded the worshippers that believing the covenant and seeing it work in their lives, is “personal.”
Pastor Taiwo equally counselled the attendees not to make the mistake of thinking that God is partial or to compare themselves with others as such is a recipe for disqualification. In his words, “You don’t need to envy any man or woman. It is the same Jesus that died for us all. The same Holy Ghost at work.”
He then urged them not to forget their covenant identity and right in God. “God is never slack in whatever He has promised to do. Don’t reduce God to man; nothing can take you away from the love of God,” the senior pastor added.
