There Are Grounds To Be Captured, Pastor Taiwo Charges Fountaineers

Possessing your possession means you taking ownership of everything Christ has finished for you. There are vast grounds yet to be captured.

These were the words of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, the Senior Pastor of the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos at the January 3, 2021, Sunday service- the first Sunday service in the year.

Speaking on the topic, possessing your possession, the senior pastor, taking his theme scripture from the book of Obadiah 1:17, told the church that for a believer to be able to possess his or her possession, they must, first of all, remain in their covenant space within God’s tenets.

He noted that what leads to people being dispossessed of their possessions is getting easily distracted by the powers of the world instead of staying focused on God.

“If you stay within the limit of your calling, God will be glorified in your life. When you stay within your covenant space, you will possess your possession,” he said.

He went ahead to give examples of men in the Bible who stayed within their covenant space with God and possessed their possessions. For instance in Genesis 13:10-17, after Lot chose what seemed to be the best part of the land, God asked Abraham to arise, look as far as his eyes could see, and walk the length and breadth of it.

“When it comes to possessing your possession, you must first arise. You can start to see what God sees,” the preacher added. “You can begin to walk around now in spite of the troubles. You are not only repossessing, you are capturing new grounds.”

Joshua was also promised by God that everywhere the sole of his feet would touch would be his as long as he remained strong, courageous, and obedient to God’s commandments. (See Joshua 1)

Pastor Taiwo went on to admonish his listeners against taking their eyes off Jesus as that would be their undoing.

“You may still look and think you are sustained because you are licking the dust off the feet of men, but in the end, they will deal with you.”

In order to possess your possession, the senior pastor highlighted three key things the believer must do:

1. Take back what was taken (Deuteronomy 9:1-3)

2.  Capture new grounds (Joshua 1)

3.  Claim and walk in the inheritance and indwelling of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:3-11).
