Speaking to the congregation during the first and second services, Pastor Taiwo, who spoke on how to engage in spiritual warfare, affirmed that the devil always looks forward to attacking them, aiming at their head.
This, according to the clergy, is the reason why the helmet of salvation is vital amongst the amour needed to fight spiritual battles.
Showcasing the importance of the helmet, the Senior Pastor explained that the helmet does not only protect the head which controls all parts of the human body, it determines one’s life.
“The helmet protects the most important part of your body. All your body functions are controlled by your brain. If the devil scatters your head, he will scatter you completely. So, you need to protect your head. It protects your brain from lies and evil thoughts.
Preaching from Ephesians 1:3 and 6:10-20, Pastor Taiwo explained that the devil is constantly working on believers’ minds, to make them yield to him, but putting on the helmet of salvation will make them remain focused on what Jesus Christ has done for them.
“You can never stop thoughts from coming to your mind from the devil, but you can decide whether to accept or reject the thoughts. If you receive all that God has said there will be a change,” he said.
Pastor Taiwo further mentioned that staying positive in thought makes the devil walk away from believers. This, according to him, can be achieved by rejecting and rebuking those negative thoughts while reaffirming God’s word over their lives and situations.
“Let your mind be filled with the things of God then the devil will have no place in your hearts. Confess positive things and destroy evil thoughts by the Word of God,” he added.
The Senior Pastor, therefore, urged the worshippers to always let the Word of God be their watchword.
He said, “The battle of life is the battle of the mind. The way we fight battles in God’s kingdom is by speaking and confessing the word of God. So, speak the word always.”
