Pastor Taiwo Odukoya
Pastor Taiwo Odukoya has reminded believers not to live at the mercy of the devil, stressing that God gave man dominion over everything on earth.
He gave the charge during his sermon at the Thursday Showers of September 9, 2021.
“God never created us to be at the mercy of any other thing apart from Him. He created us actually to have dominion here on earth; to be in control, and of course, He demonstrated it in everything He has said and done and is still doing and saying,” he said.
“Though the man was the last thing God created, He ensured man had everything he needed.”
The cleric, who took his Bible passage from Lamentations 3:22-23 and Malachi 3:6, told the congregation that God has given them all they need for their assignments, as demonstrated in the creation story.
According to him, God does not give anyone an assignment without providing the resources to execute it.
“God will provide everything you need to the details. He will dot the I’s and cross the T’s before He assigns you to do it,” he added.
While likening the devil to a thief, the preacher restated that his three-fold mission is to steal, kill and destroy.
“He is a thief, a thief of good things. And when he is not stealing, he is looking for how to kill that which promotes joy,” Pastor Taiwo noted.
In stating that God, on the contrary, is the giver of good things, the Senior Pastor maintained that the mercy of God makes the difference.
The mercy of God, he reiterated, is what saves the believer from the devil’s plot. “God is good! That is why it is through His mercy that the devil cannot accomplish his aims,” he stated.
