The Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, TFOLC, Ilupeju, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, has enjoined Showerians, to exercise their rights in everything they do, and not to exhibit fear because they have not been given the spirit of fear, but that of faith and love.
Ministering at the September 23 Thursday Showers, the cleric, who declared, “If you believe that you have been born again, then you need to know that you have not been given the spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind,” added that Christians should focus on those things that are readily available to them, instead of dwelling on what God has not given them.
In taking his Bible reference from 2 Timothy 1:7, the cleric suggested that “Isn’t it amazing that the Bible did not just stop at what God has not given you? It goes ahead to tell you what He has given you. And sometimes, in a lot of our meditations, we zero more on what He has not given us and we beat ourselves into it.”
Pastor Taiwo, whilst conceding that Christians might sometimes exhibit the emotion of fear, maintained that there is so much for a believer to tap into, than succumbing to fear. According to him, “Christians should always meditate on things that edify and strengthen their faith.
“This would help you maximize the power readily available to you. What He has given us is much more. So if you want to love a victorious life, you need to dwell more on your privileges as believers.”
Pastor Taiwo encouraged the worshippers to understand the love of God towards them. He cited Ephesians 1:15-19 to explain that the power of a sound mind, which God has given them, is done out of His love and not of their works.
“God has given you power. Incomparable power! Creative power! Irresistible power! Immeasurable power and not the power of fear,” the preacher explained.
“Nothing else explains God’s strategy than His love. It flows freely and never fails irrespective of the situation.”
