‘Prayer Is Vital’ — Pastor Taiwo Odukoya

Members of The Fountain of Life Church, TFOLC, Ilupeju, Lagos State, Nigeria, were at the December 19 Sunday Service told that God wants all men to pray and even long for and give cognizance to their prayers, adding that all things created answers to believers’ prayers.

Taking his text from Ephesians 3:16, Pastor Taiwo noted that you learn to pray by praying, adding that the Ephesians church was birthed through prayer.

Using the life of Apostle Paul, as an illustration, Pastor Taiwo said that prayer is vital to a believer’s success.

According to the Senior Pastor, “All of Paul’s revelations were birthed through prayer. Every time he established a body of believers, he continued to pray for the churches and individuals.

“He also prayed the same line of prayers for himself, and he continued to pray until his death. Paul was not one of the first twelve apostles, but God used him greatly, even more than the other apostles. So, when it comes to us as believers, whatever you want, is to the extent to which your inner man is charged.”

Also, speaking from Isaiah 11:2, John 17:9 &11, and 1 Corinthians 14:4-18, the clergyman explained that praying is not easy, but the Holy Spirit helps.

“It is a struggle to pray or even have the will to pray as humans, but you can get empowered in the Holy Spirit through prayer,” he said.

He, therefore, urged believers not to joke with their prayer lives as helped by the Holy Spirit.

He said, “There is a place for prophecy, but there is a place for personal prayers. So learn to exercise faith through prayers and confessions.

“Faith starts from the physical. Therefore, you can short change yourself by going through life without the Holy Spirit. This was the secret of Paul.”
