Pastor Dapo Williams of The Fountain of Life Church, TFOLC, stated during the Thursday Showers of December 23, 2021, that God is too awesome to do anything by accident. He made this statement whilst explaining to the parishioners that just as Jesus first coming was preceded by the ministry of John the Baptist as His forerunner, His second coming will also be announced.
Taking his Bible reference from Mark 1:1-4, Malachi 4:4-6, Revelation 19:10, Luke 19:13 and Matthew 25:31, the cleric asserted that Jesus Christ has given each believer an assignment to accomplish before His return and He would reward each man according to his works.
Pastor Dapo Williams summarized the message of John the Baptist, as recorded in Luke 3:8:14, as giving, honesty in dealing with people whether in business or other things and being fair to other people, not oppressing them.
In his words, “These three things, which are all about relationship with people, are very important to God and what he wants us to do before His second coming. If you’ve encountered God, you would love to give; you won’t defraud your business partners and won’t oppress people. One evidence of Christ growing in your life is your level of generosity.”
The cleric also shared from 1 Timothy 6:17-19 and Ephesians 4:28 to show that a generous heart is key to laying hold on eternal life. “Don’t use the things on earth to stop your eternity. Instead, use what you find on this earth for eternity,” he warned.
Rounding off with the story of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37, he urged them to be mindful of their lifestyles as children of God and how they relate with one another as they occupy with the gifts God has given them while expecting the second coming of Christ.
“Our inheritance in Christ is our responsibility to our tasks. It is not in the accumulation of earthly things. You are to serve and not to be served. Whatever you spend on people, when He comes back, He will repay you,” he urged.
