Pastor Biodun Soderu, during his sermon at the Thursday Showers sermon on January 13 at The Fountain of Life Church (TFOLC), Ilupeju, Lagos, has said the Holy Spirit is the principal-agent helping the believer to experience God’s glory.
Taking his sermon from the Church’s theme scripture for the year 2022 (2Corinthians 3:18), the preacher noted that it is only with the aid of the Holy Spirit that Christians can appropriate their privileges in Christ.
“All these things I have said about beholding God’s glory is only by the Spirit of God,” Pastor Soderu added.
According to him, the Holy Spirit is multifaceted and operates in many ways in the believer’s life.
“He guides, leads, and directs,” the cleric told the congregation during the sermon, where he also referenced Acts 19:1-3 to drive home his point about the importance of the Holy Spirit in the Christian race.
The cleric equally noted that the Holy Spirit comes with several gifts, including speaking in other tongues and the gift of prophecy.
Aside from the role of the Holy Spirit in living a glorious life, the clergyman also explained that moving from glory to glory means that the believer is expected to get better as he draws closer to God.
“It means I am more powerful spiritually than I was last year,” he added.
In using the analogy of a couple looking more like each other to explain the concept of beholding God’s glory, Pastor Biodun Soderu explained that as believers continually behold God, they become like Him.
The clergyman’s sermon further touched on the three critical ingredients for a seamless life, just as he charged Fountaineers to adopt a lifestyle of prayer.
This, in addition to evangelising and “enjoying their lives,” are essentials for a victorious Christian life, according to the man of God.
In his words: “A prayerless Christian is powerless and an easy prey for the devil.”
