Pastor Akin Osinbajo of The Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos State, has reminded members of the church that God has been speaking since creation and is still speaking.
He, therefore, urged Fountaineers to position themselves in the word so that God could talk to them.
Addressing the congregation during the first service on Sunday, January 23, 2022, Pastor Akin Osinbajo, who referenced Prophet Eli as an example of someone who went out of spiritual alignment with God leading to his inability to hear God speak (1 Samuel 3:8-10), urged the congregation to fix their gaze on God at all times regardless of their circumstances.
The clergyman did not also fail to declare that “God’s desire is to fellowship with his children, but most times we are not listening and have shut him out of our affairs.
“God speaks to those who actively seek Him and listen out for His voice and not casual visitors.”
In giving reasons for why there is a need for every believer to hear from God, the cleric stated that life is full of challenges that cannot be navigated without God’s directions.
The preacher noted that God could be heard through the following ways – through the word of God, prayers, and testimonies of brethren. He then cautioned against seeking to impose one’s will on God.
Pastor Akin Osinbajo listed sin and distractions such as excessive use of technology as the main reasons we sometimes do not hear God’s voice and urged everyone to be prepared to obey God when he speaks.
