Revered preacher, Bishop Mike Okonkwo has faulted the belief that God is always angry and judgemental, insisting that the creator of the universe is an ever-loving and merciful Father who cares for His children.
The Presiding Bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) said this in his sermon during the second service on Sunday, April 24th at The Fountain of Life Church (TFOLC) headquarters in Ilupeju, Lagos, Nigeria.
He took his anchor scripture from Isaiah 54:6 and captioned the message ‘God’s Everlasting Love’.
The TREM helmsman said God’s love is everlasting and unbendable, stating that the believers’ adoption is of the same quality as that of Christ, the LORD, and Saviour (Ephesians 1:4).
While explaining the depth of God’s love, he referenced Romans 4:25, bringing to the fore that everything Jesus did was sacrificial. He did nothing for Himself, the cleric said.
God’s love, Bishop Mike Okonkwo stated, had been set and put in motion from the beginning of time. The 77-year-old cleric said this is the main reason believers should not allow the devil to have the last word in their lives no matter the situation.
According to him, the greatest honour that could be given to God is to ensure that they enjoy the fullness of His provision to the shame of the devil.
He quoted Isaiah 60:1-2 and Romans 8:29 while explaining that the end of a child of God is glorious and should not be a cause for shame and condemnation.
The televangelist and graduate of the Morris Cerullo School of Ministry and the Covington Theological Seminary in the USA restated that there is no accidental occurrence in a Christian’s life.
He also declared that the congregation should be ready for the remarkable things that God has ordained for the church and reassuringly said that the devil is set for a trouncing in the same vein.
Earlier in the service, Pastor Lara Adesanya declared emphatically that the size of a problem is nothing before God.
Her admonition came while she read the scripture capturing the Promise of the Week taken from Psalm 46: 1–3.
She encouraged the congregants to continually believe that God whom they serve will always see them through life’s battles.
