In continuation of his message last Thursday, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya told the congregation at the May 22 Sunday services that God is all they need, stating that He is all-sufficient.
He took his Bible reading from 2 Corinthians 12:9 and defined dunamis as the miracle-working power of God, which works best in weaknesses.
From Apostle Paul’s encounter in verse 7 of the same chapter, Pastor Taiwo explained that God gave him (Paul) a thorn in the flesh. He said despite Paul’s cry to God to remove it, He didn’t.
Pastor Taiwo said: “The same is also true for the three Hebrew children. He could have prevented them from being thrown into the fire, but He didn’t. Rather, God appeared in the fire. To Paul, He told him that His grace is sufficient for him.”
While reading from Genesis 16:1, the cleric further noted that Sarah’s womb was dead when God promised a son to Abraham. Abraham was a pagan, but God chose him of all the men on earth because of grace, Pastor Taiwo added.
The preacher equally talked about Moses, who was born and chosen by God because of grace. He explained that God’s grace sustained Moses while he was hidden in the river, also noting that in chapter 18, God appeared to Abraham again as Elshaddai, the All-Sufficient God.
The preacher added that in dealing with the All-Sufficient God, believers should know that whatever He asks them to do is all sufficiency in Him.
Citing the events in Judges 6:11, when the children of Israelites were going through difficulties, he said God revealed Himself to Gideon as Jehovah Shalom, the God of Peace.
Furthermore, In John 1: 14-16, Pastor Taiwo noted that God revealed Himself as the One who made all things, in whom there’s life and light, and the light continues to shine in the darkness. He is full of overflowing grace and truth, Pastor Taiwo added. He explained that Jesus is the grace being referred to.
“Jesus is overflowing with grace, from His fullness that we receive. He performed so many miracles and power because of grace. Anywhere He went, the anointing upon Him destroyed yokes. Jesus is an expert in overturning impossible situations,” he told the worshippers.
“He dwells in us by His Spirit. In Him, we live, move, and have our being. He is the head of all principalities and powers. As Christians, the grace of God is working in our lives. His grace is made perfect in our infirmities,” Pastor Taiwo added.
