Children Are God’s Best Gifts to Us – Pastor Taiwo

The Senior Pastor of the Fountain of Life Church (TFOLC), Taiwo Odukoya, has re-echoed the importance of children, declaring that God places a premium on them because they are His special gifts.

He said this on May 29, which doubled as the church’s Family Sunday service and Children’s Day celebration.

“Children are God’s best gift to us. They are God’s treasure. He loves them so much. So, dear children, your parents, and teachers love and care for you too,” the preacher told the children.

“All they want is the best for you. Never mind the class or struggles you might be going through today; you are turning out to be the best in Jesus’ name.”

Pastor Taiwo took his reading from Psalm 127:1–5 and told parents to be conscious of their roles in raising their children to God’s glory.

He shared a testimony of an Israeli, Tony Campolo, whose mother’s words of how special he was due to his origin as a Jew resonated with the young Campolo to the extent that he felt special.

The cleric emphasised the importance of declaring God’s Words to children. He read Matthew 19:13–15 to note that Jesus stopped the oppression of the children’s enthusiasm so that they do not end up as insecure adults.

‘The Seed Of Greatness’

The preacher admonished the worshippers, especially children, to constantly remind themselves that they are the best and nobody can pull them down.

“Dear children, God has put the seed of greatness in you. So, do not look down on yourself nor look down on other people,” the cleric said.

“And do not let anybody look down on you or bully you in school. Instead, tell yourself, ‘I am the best; nobody can pull me down.”

He advised parents to avoid the pitfalls of unwholesome rebuke, neglect, and overindulgence. Pastor Taiwo reiterated that God places a premium on children, as he quoted Jeremiah 1:5.

He then mentioned that God does not see things as men do and advised the congregation to get involved and be deliberate in their children’s lives towards accomplishing the purpose of Heaven.

Pastor Taiwo also cautioned parents not to dump their weaknesses on their children. Instead, he urged them to make their lives godly examples because children learn primarily by observation.

He re-emphasised the importance of declaring God’s Word continually and affirming sincere love for children.

The TFOLC Senior Pastor went on to pronounce blessings on the children, declaring that they would manifest, in fullness, God’s purpose in their lifetimes.
