The Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, TFOLC, Ilupeju, Lagos, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, has admonished believers to bring their faith to action.
He said this while ministering at the June 26 Sunday service, held in the main auditorium of The Fountain of Life Church (TFOLC) in Ilupeju, Lagos. The preacher backed up his claim with Hebrews 11:6. He said that everyone mentioned in the chapter did something great and that what they did showed the kind of faith they had.
“Your hope as a Christian can be brought into reality. It is all the evidence required to prove what is not said,” Pastor Taiwo added, just as he maintained that “Our fathers of faith were able to prepare for eternity by faith.”
Pastor Taiwo explained that faith activates actions, noting that believers cannot do anything if there is no faith. He cited Noah, who believed in God when asked to build an ark and obeyed without seeing anything, as an example that any effort to please God without faith is futile.
“Faith in God means faith in the word of God. Anyone that comes to God must believe in Him. No one can approach God at any time without faith. God is real and relatable, and He rewards those that diligently seek Him,” he added.
The cleric continued, “Belief means that you have a resolute conviction that God is real. He is a rewarder, and He rewards persistence.”
Also, reading Matthew 6:33 and Psalms 27:3-4, the clergyman noted that there would be challenges and trials for believers, but victory is inevitable when they put their hope and trust in God.
“No matter the challenges we face in life, God is more interested in our attitude than our anxieties and fears. The patriarchs were ordinary men and women like us, but they had extraordinary faith,” he noted.
The preacher thus charged Christians to let God’s righteousness be evident in their lives. He also encouraged them to be devoted to God and involve Him in everything they do.
“Christianity is for those who know that God’s word stands forever. They trust Him and believe He will see them out of their problems. Trust His word, for that is faith, and keep on believing Him,” he added.
