Believers have been admonished never to forget that God is sovereign irrespective of their circumstances or events around them.
The Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church (TFOLC), Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, stated this during his message on Sunday, October 23, when he said, “Never forget that God is God despite difficult challenges. No matter what you are going through, He does not change. He will remain long after those challenges. So, do not elevate your problems above God.”
Speaking from Isaiah 40:1; 28–31 and Acts 9, the clergyman told the congregation that there are times in life when one tends to ask questions, especially in demanding situations.
He assured them that God is ever present and always comes with the Spirit of comfort. “It is natural sometimes to want to ask questions; and even though God will seem to be quiet, He will be saying a lot,” he said.
Pastor Taiwo further cited Deuteronomy 29:29 to note that God lives up to His promises, adding that the just shall live by the promises of His word. “Whatever is revealed is for our blessings, but whatever He chooses not to reveal is His business,” he stated.
The preacher further argued that circumstances do not define believers, but the word of God, stating that He gives strength to the weak.
“When you think I am at my weakest, get ready. Then, when these questions come bubbling in your heart, make sure you are not judging God by the happenings,” he said.
The Senior Pastor concluded his sermon by saying the character of God will never change and cited the example of the woman with the issue of blood who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment despite her situation.
He posited: “Why will your allegiance change because of your situation? There is a place for the weak; a special place in the heart of God.”
The service, which started with a powerful praise and worship session and intercessory prayers for the country, the body of Christ, and the Senior Pastor, his family, and church members, was awesome.
The promise for the week, Isaiah 40:31, was also read by Pastor Amaka Maduneme, who encouraged the members never to be tired of waiting on God, noting that God is the God of all flesh and a miraculous God, and nothing is too difficult for Him to do.
