‘Remain Strong in the Spirit’ – Pastor Taiwo Odukoya

Pastor Taiwo Odukoya has enjoined believers not to get comfortable with a new level of victory because there’s always more!

His counsel came during his sermon at the first service of Sunday, December 11, 2022, held at The Fountain of Life Church (TFOLC) headquarters in the Ilupeju area of Lagos State.

While referencing Revelations 4:1-2, the church’s Senior Pastor explained that the Apostle John did much for God because he was in the spirit despite his ordeal on the Island of Patmos.

Painting a picture of how John came to be on the Island of Patmos, he explained that the disciple had been tortured and persecuted to the extent of being boiled in hot oil, but his persecutors weren’t able to kill him. John, he recalled, was then banished to the Island of Patmos to die.

The minister said that even though John was in a terrible situation, his relationship with God was still so strong that he could get profound revelations from God.

Even though his body was broken, his spirit, Pastor Taiwo said, was still alive as he continued to have a great time with the Master.

Drawing from John’s experience on the Island of Patmos, the cleric admonished the congregation to remain strong in their spirits, irrespective of how terrible and hopeless their situations were.

He noted that God’s children can only see what God has in store for them with the help of the Holy Spirit.

The man of God continued his message by emphasizing that the least expected of Christians is to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit because there’s always more in store for them.

According to him, John was spiritually sound and had a great relationship with God; judging by the depth of revelation God made available to him, God still told him to come up, implying that there’s more to be done!

He encouraged them to make Ephesians 3:16 their daily prayer to be strengthened with might through the Spirit in their inner man because Christians are only as strong as their spirit man.

“There’s always a new level for God’s children, irrespective of past temptations, struggles, trials, and victories experienced; the extent to which this new level is attained, however, is dependent on the strength of our Spirit man,” he said.
