Believe in God, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya Tells Showerians

The Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, TFOLC, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, has urged believers to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in the New Year 2023. He said this at the January 12 Thursday Showers, the second Showers service in the year.

Picking his text from Isaiah 59:19, the clergyman noted that the devil will always come against Christians in the area of the revelation they know and challenge the revelation of the Word they have received.

He added that Christians can only overcome him when they are in tune and sensitive to the Holy Spirit. “The moment a child of God gets an understanding of the revelation of who he is by the Holy Spirit, the devil is confused,” Pastor Taiwo noted.

Giving the reason why the devil would always attack a believer, Pastor Taiwo noted that a genuine child of God doesn’t have to offend anyone or sin before the devil comes after him or her.

According to the cleric, the mere fact that such a believer is on the right side of God makes such a person a target of the devil. This is why the devil always appears in the gatherings of the saints, just as he did when God called for the gathering of His sons in Job 1:6.

“He will come like a flood, but the Spirit of the Lord will arise and set a standard against him,” the Senior Pastor posited.

Using Jesus, who was being tempted by the devil after He was led by the Holy Spirit to the wilderness, as recorded in Matthew 4:1-11, as an example, Pastor Taiwo said that the devil would always come in a subtle way to tempt believers, using their areas of need just as he used food for Jesus, seeing that, that was his immediate need after fasting for 40 days and night.

Pastor Taiwo further suggested that the standard of the Word of God and the revelation such a believer has received from God should be raised against him wherever he comes with his temptation, just as Jesus overcame him by the Word.

The cleric maintained that “Satan’s problem is the revelation you have. He wants to take it away from you and will use your need to justify his attack. But rather than fall, go back to the place of the revelation God gave and use that to raise a standard against him.”

He concluded his message by urging his listeners to believe in God and stand by His Word to fight for them anytime and whenever the tempter comes to attack them.

“It doesn’t matter the mouth of the lions that are opened up against you; by the leading of the Holy Spirit, standards will be set against the enemy, and they shall be taken down,” he prophesied to them.
