Holy Spirit Restores Order, Says Pastor Taiwo Odukoya

The Holy Spirit is the only reason you will rise. He establishes your feet on the high ground and orders your steps.

These were the words of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya to both the online and on-site congregation during the January 8, 2023, Sunday service as he continued his series on the Holy Spirit.

The Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church noted that the Holy Spirit is there to restore order anywhere there is darkness or confusion.

He said this while referring to the first mention of the Holy Spirit, recorded in the first chapter of the Book of Genesis.

“The first encounter of the Holy Spirit is seen when the earth is covered in darkness, chaos, and confusion, and the Holy Spirit is present, brooding and hovering over the situation,” he said.

He went ahead to say that since Jesus Christ, while on earth, did nothing outside the Holy Spirit, every believer must emulate Him and must involve the Holy Spirit in all that they do.

“There is nothing Jesus did outside the Holy Spirit. So, without the Holy Spirit, we are non-starters,” Pastor Taiwo added.

The cleric went ahead to illustrate how Mary, conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit because she believed and how her cousin, Elizabeth’s baby in her womb, leaped for joy at the sound of Mary’s voice. “That joy was of the Holy Spirit,” he maintained.

Pastor Taiwo reminded his listeners, while reading from John 3:6–8, that only a believer in Christ Jesus has an advantage over the unbeliever.

“As a believer, you have an advantage over the unbeliever because of the Holy Spirit; if you are born of the Spirit, you are a mystery to the world,” he said.

The cleric warned about the devil’s ploy to destroy the intimacy between the believer and the Holy Spirit, adding that believers only need to stay focused on the Holy Spirit and not the devil’s distractions, just as Ephesians 5:16 admonished.

He encouraged the congregation to be assured of God’s hand to save them, noting that even when the enemy comes like a raging flood, ready to sweep them away with issues of life, the Holy Spirit will lift a standard against him.
