The Holy Spirit is the engine room of believers, and thus, they can’t function without Him.
That summed up Pastor Tolu Ige’s message during the June 15th Thursday Showers of The Fountain of Life Church (TFOLC), Ilupeju, Lagos State.
The lead pastor of the TFOLC, Grace Family Parish in Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos State, said life is complex; but for believers, this is the opposite because he or she has the Holy Spirit, who will help them navigate their way.
He noted that without the Holy Spirit, it is easy for believers to lose their way and be swept along with the currents of the world.
But citing Ephesians 5:15-21, he said scripture has provided a roadmap for understanding God’s will, guiding them to rise above evil days and shine as beacons of light in a dark world.
He reminded the worshippers that the way of the Holy Spirit is the way of wisdom, noting that the world has its own kind of wisdom. But he added that if a believer must influence the world, he or she must not conform to the world’s standards.
“If we want to succeed in this life, we cannot function in the world’s wisdom. If we want to do all that God has called us to be according to His will for our lives, then we must trust His Holy Spirit to lead us through,” the architect said.
Anything outside this, he said, will be a daunting task filled with disappointments, betrayals, and frustrations. He explained that the Holy Spirit has been called to be by the believer’s side.
Pastor Tolu admonished the worshippers, just as the scriptures have, to walk circumspectly. He explained that this means the believer must walk with utmost sensitivity as though they are walking amongst thorns because they (believers) are not expected to live their lives anyhow.
The cleric said: “The life of a Christian is not que sera sera. It is about the will of God, so you have to jealously guard your life as you take your journey through life- howbeit, with the help of the Holy Spirit”.
While highlighting how the believer must walk circumspectly, the clergyman noted the following:
