Pastor Femi Megbope of The Fountain of Life Church (TFOLC), Ilupeju, Lagos, has asked believers to stick to God’s word when difficulties of life come.
He gave the charge in his sermon during the second service of Sunday, September 3, 2023, just as he added that life would always come with its challenges, but Christians must stick to God’s word to overcome such turbulence.
The preacher said, “At a time like this, do you have the word as your anchor? If you have not, please find one and hold onto it. When there is turbulence, bring it out”.
Taking part of his reading from Mark 4:35-41, the cleric recalled Jesus’s calming of the storm and stated that while the storm was raging, the disciples only needed to wake the word (Jesus) and He rebuked the wind.
“For the believer, the same thing is expected of them when the challenges of life come knocking. So, what word do you put to work in turbulent times?
“You have the word in you. So, wake it up. Not just from the head. Let it be from the heart,” he reminded the worshippers.
The cleric said such words should be something the believer has meditated upon. He thus urged them to imbibe the habit of studying and meditating on the Word to live a triumphant life.
The service also featured praise and worship sessions, among other activities.
