Continuing with the theme of the month, “The New Beginning,” Pastor Jimmy Odukoya said at
the Thursday showers on May 30 that God’s promise to make everything new is not limited to a
set date, because God reigns eternally and brings out newness perpetually.

Referring to the creation account, the Senior Pastor emphasised that light has never stopped shining, highlighting the strength of God’s word.

“Continuous transformation can be brought about by a single word from God,” He declared.

Speaking from Revelation 21:5, Pastor Jimmy emphasised the significance of writing down
God’s promises so that they might be recalled in times of difficulty.

“The evidence is not for God but for us. And these words are true and accurate, they do not lie. Let it go on for years, they will surely come to be. It gives hope against hope. These words are incorruptible. The validation of the word is not based on us as believers,” Pastor Jimmy said.

Pastor Jimmy read from John 15:1 to say that abiding in Christ is the first step towards experiencing a new beginning.

In his words, “there is an expectation to bear fruits once in Him. God prunes so as to make the Christian bear new fruits by cutting away the parts that would cause a stunt in growth. So, He prunes so that new beginnings can come from time to time. It’s a continuous process.”

He continued, “To always encounter new beginnings, you must remain in God. True new
beginnings can be found only in God, thus believers should not adhere to worldly ideals but
remain rooted in Him.”

The congregation was exhorted by Pastor Jimmy to remember God’s promises and to keep their faith strong, charging them not to conform to the standards of the world but to remain in God. He concluded his message by emphasising that new beginnings begin and end with God, urging the congregation to stay united with God because everything else is pointless without this essential unity with Him.
