My Thursday Showers experience is always exhilarating; it’s never a dull moment. It is a place you go to with a heavy heart and leave with peace and joy overflowing your soul. It’s a place you go to in a state of despair and leave with renewed hope and confidence to take on any challenges.

I just love the praise, I feel at liberty to express myself in joy, songs, and dance. You know, when there is joy, there is a song, and when there is a song there is dancing. Not that I’m good at dancing, but I have realised that dancing is the movement of the body to the sound of music; for the Australian Christians they just jump.

Taking the Holy Communion at Showers is a constant reminder of the sacrifice of our Saviour Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary for the salvation of our souls (Luke 22:19-20).

The exhortations by Pastor Taiwo and other ministers are often the cherry on the cake. There is always a word for me, no matter how short the sermon is. One of the things I’ve learnt is that when we make choices that are pleasing to our heavenly Father, we’re blessed. When we make choices that keep us following in the footsteps of His Son, we enjoy the abundance Jesus promised to those who follow Him. But when we make choices that are displeasing to God, we sow seeds that have the potential to bring forth an unhappy harvest.

So, make your thoughts and your actions pleasing to God. Then you’ll know the deep comfort of His pleasure and peace.
