HOLY SPIRIT THE COMFORTER (PART 2) John 16:5-16

The Holy Spirit is the truth. He can and will guide you into all truth because He will present His own ideas but the Father’s. He will tell you about the future (John 16: 13).

He is a perfect gentleman who will not force Himself on anyone. He is readily available and there’s a lot He can do for us as believers but we need to willfully allow Him.

The Holy Spirit is not feeling, goosebumps or emotion. He is a person (Verse 12-16). He helps us as believers to produce the fruit of the Spirit which will embody Godly character.

THE WORKS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

– He reveals your calling and mission to you
– He reveals to you the opposition ahead and around us.
– He shows you the final outcome of events yet to come.
– He helps you to walk in the Spirit so as not to fulfill the lust of the flesh. This makes whatever
you may be going through now temporal. (Galatians 5:16)
– He helps you to understand the scriptures and appropriate God’s word better (1Cor.2:14 – 16)
God unveils the mystery of His word to believers through the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:6-10)

HOW THE HOLY SPIRIT REVELS THINGS TO YOU

-When you spend time with Him
– When you meditate on the word, think about the word, pray and worship (Joshua 1:8)
– The strength of any relationship is Communication.

WHAT CAN HINDER THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit can be restrained, hindered, or extinguished (1 Thessalonians.5:16). The following can
hinder Him
– Feeling satisfied and not wanting more
– Fear
– Doubt or using our natural mind to comprehend the scripture
– Unbelief
– Too busy to read the scripture.
– Understanding
