The day you gave your life to Christ you became endued with strength from the Holy Ghost on the inside. You cannot be a Christian without this strength.

These were the words of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya at the November 22 Sunday first service. Speaking on what he titled “The Strength of God”, Pastor Taiwo told believers that for anyone to fulfill their assignment or calling in life, they require the strength of God, which comes from the Holy Ghost.

He illustrated this while reading from the Book of Acts 9: 13-22, which underlined the story of Saul’s conversion to Paul and how he increased in strength from the inside through the power of the Holy Ghost to fulfill God’s calling on his life.

“In every area, God has assigned you to do something, you need His strength,” the preacher said. He went ahead to note that just as it was in Saul’s encounter with Christ, whatever situation a believer may find himself or herself, the ultimate goal is to prove the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Taiwo further gave examples from the old testament of people who had an unusual understanding of God’s strength working in their lives – Moses as seen in Exodus 15 and David as seen in Psalms in 27 and 18.

The pastor also noted that God expects His children to be courageous in spite of their seeming weaknesses and walk in the strength in which He has endued in them, for it is in their weakness that His strength is made perfect.

“God has invested so much in you,” the clergyman explained. “It doesn’t matter how weak you may be, what defines the perfection and Excellency of God’s strength is in your weakness.”

He urged the congregation to study further on this supernatural strength given by God to believers using the following scriptures references: (Acts 9:13-22; Romans 5:6; Ephesians 1:15- 20; Ephesians 3:14-17 and Ephesians 6:10-14)

“There are certain things as a believer, if you do not know, the enemy will take you for granted. What you do not know, you cannot benefit from,” he added.

“As a believer, in every area that God has assigned you to do something, you need strength; and this strength comes from the Holy Ghost. God will never send you without it. You have been endued with this strength to fulfill God’s calling on your life, therefore be courageous, God will back you up.”
