Believers must continue in the word of God because there lies the Spirit of God that gives freedom.
Pastor Yemisi Akindolie stated this during the second service on Sunday, January 23, 2022, just as she added, “We must walk in the Spirit so that we are not in bondage to the flesh.
Taking her Bible reference from the theme scripture, 2Corinthians 3:17-18, Pastor Yemisi Akindolie also cited Romans 8:14; Galatians 4:1-7; Romans 8:17, to note that those who are continually led by the flesh cannot be called the sons of God.
According to her, “Sonship is not just by mouth, it means responsibility. So a son in God’s family connotes responsibility in the kingdom. Therefore, you must assess yourself by God’s standard to know how responsible you are.”
The clergywoman, who further read from 1Corinthians 12:7-31, stated that God had deposited specific gifts in every believer to be used for the benefit of all.
While noting that a responsible son of God would use his gifts to the glory of God and benefit of the body of Christ, Pastor Yemisi Akindolie insisted, “There is no superior or inferior Holy Spirit. As we continue to walk in His glory, He will continue to reveal His power through us in our world. If any of us does not play his or her role, the body would be defective.”
Pastor Yemisi further noted that walking in the Spirit also demands walking in love and faith as urged in 1 Corinthians 13 and Hebrews 11:6-17.
The clergywoman then urged the congregation to walk closely with the Holy Spirit as this is when there will not be space for the flesh to rule over them.
“The Holy Spirit will give you all that it takes; walk in the Holy Spirit so that you have all that it takes not to fulfil the desires of the flesh,” she urged.
