Pastor Femi Megbope to Fountaineers: ‘Thirst, Hunger After Righteousness’
The secret to an ever-increasing glory is to thirst and hunger after righteousness. Pastor Femi Megbope made this known during the second service on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at The Fountain of Life Church (TFOLC), Ilupeju, Lagos.
The cleric, who argued that God’s children should possess a settled way of thinking as that is what makes them the beatitudes, took his anchor scripture from Matthew 5: 3-11 and Psalm 23:7.
Pastor Femi Megbope, while insisting that righteousness starts from the heart, and it is the quality of being morally correct and justifiable, cited Isaiah 64:6 to explain that all man’s righteousness is as filthy rags, hence, no need to glory in personal righteousness but God’s.
According to the preacher, “There will always be a way that will seem right to humans, but the end is destruction (Proverbs 14:12). If God is not in our thoughts, then we are wicked and God abhors wicked people” (Psalm 10vs 4, Psalm 7 vs 11).
“The thirst for God is the secret to an ever-increasing glory of God which happens to be the theme for the month.”
He urged Fountaineers, and believers in general, not to have an appetite for sin no matter how pleasant it may appear.
To him, if believers do not have an appetite for the things of God, then something is wrong, such a believer is sick and needs the attention of the doctor who in this case happens to be God.
He thus noted that “God does not place a limit on His glory for us, but we can if we do not hunger and thirst after righteousness”.
