The February 9 Thursday Showers service was a demonstration of the mighty hand of God. The praise and worship session and the testimonies shared by Mummy Felicia and Sisters Olayemi and Seye Adeniran were evidence of God’s sovereignty and involvement in the affairs of His children.

Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, while ministering the word, told the congregation that the spirit realm is real, adding that God is a Spirit, and they that seek to worship Him must do so in spirit and truth.

“Without God in the life of a person, the capacity to worship Him in spirit and truth will not be there, and communication with Him will not be possible,” he said.

Referencing Romans 8:9 and citing the account of Satan appearing before God when the sons of God gathered, as recorded in Job 1:6-7, he said that someone can be a part of the body of Christ and not have the Spirit of God in them.

According to the clergyman, this is why believers need to have the Spirit of discernment, as it would help them know whom to embrace and discard.

In his words, “They gather where the sons of God gather and are there to cause chaos. The devil only comes to steal, kill and destroy, but the good news is, Christ has come that the world will have life, Zoe, God kind of life and in abundance.”

Reading further from Luke 18:1 and James 5:16-17, Pastor Taiwo said that when believers lose heart, it is a clear sign that prayers have been relegated to the background.

He, therefore, charged his listeners to pray about everything so as not to lose heart. “If you are losing anything, then pray. Even if you are about to lose heart, go ahead and pray, as prayer changes everything,” he said.

Pastor Taiwo also stressed the need to confess one’s fault to not give the devil a foothold by accusation before prayers. “Get that settled and out of the way, and then pray,” he urged.

The cleric ended the service by encouraging the church to make it a habit to always pray in the Spirit, after which he led the brethren in a session of prayers, charging the brethren to pray in the Spirit and watch God move in His power and glory.
