When God marks one for divine encounters, protocols are broken.
The above was the position of the Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church (TFOLC), Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, while ministering during the May 7 Sunday services.
Using the encounter of the Samaritan woman with Jesus as recorded in John 4: 10, 3–43 as an illustration, the clergyman stated that when God wants to deal with a person in a particular way, He allows him to be alone.
He stressed that the Samaritan woman met the Lord alone at the well, leading to the encounter that later defined her life.
The Man of God further stated that it was imperative to know that everyone is special to God and that the primary purpose of the Holy Spirit is to reveal Jesus to the believer so that he can reveal Him to others.
Quoting Ephesians 1:3, Pastor Taiwo declared that each person is equipped by God to be his or her best, with the addition that God chose us even from the foundation of the World.
The clergyman also said that God chooses who He will give a divine encounter regardless of the situation, just as He met the Samaritan woman at the well, an event that turned her life around for good.
He, however, cautioned them not to get familiar with the Holy Ghost, whom Jesus had given to them upon His departure from the earth.
“Working with the Holy Spirit demands yielding to Him at all times,” he said.
Pastor Taiwo concluded his message by urging the congregation not to joke with evangelism, just as he stated that the Great Commission is all about people.
Earlier in the service, Pastor Mary Fayemi did an exposition of the Promise of the Week taken from Lamentations 3:37.
According to her, irrespective of the situation, which may seem to have defied prayers, God Almighty has the final say.
“He is always on point. What He says He will do, is what He will do”, Pastor Fayemi told the congregation as she led them in a prayer session, declaring God’s Word over their lives.
