Pastor Babatunde Ladipo of The Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos, has insisted that evangelism has seemingly become tedious for believers, especially in this generation.
He made this assertion during the second service on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
Reading from Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-18, 2 Timothy 4:1-3, and John 3:16, Pastor Babatunde Ladipo, who shared a personal experience, said many believers are not bold to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ because there is no burning zeal within them.
While stating further that soul-winning is God’s greatest interest on this planet, the preacher posited that “God’s investment is measured by souls.
“Nothing else interests God on this planet more as much as souls.
“Souls are the currency of heaven. If you want to keep currency in heaven, start investing in souls. Soul winning is the most profitable venture for the Christian”.
In equally reading from Matthew 9:35-38 and Psalm 2:8 to say that prayer is at the bedrock of soul winning and salvation, the clergyman added that believers can spend more time asking God to help them win souls through their disposition, countenance, character, smiles, voice and relationship.
He said: “That is a humble starting position for soul winning. God needs labourers to win souls to Him. Salvation is for labourers and not supervisors or directors”.
Pastor Babatunde Ladipo also read Acts 16:13-14 and 2 Corinthians 4:1-4 to show that no believer has the power to make people receive the gospel of Jesus Christ but God, adding that constant prayer would make this happen.
In his words: “You don’t have what it takes to open anybody’s heart, but when prayer becomes customary, hearts become opened, and salvation flows naturally. Your heart must be involved in salvation”.
He, therefore, urged the congregation to desire to bring souls to Christ.
