The Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Jimmy Odukoya says revelation is needed to birth new beginnings.
He said this at the May 23 Thursday Showers where he told the worshippers that all through the scripture, those who witnessed new beginnings walked with revelation.
Reading from John 5:1-14 that detailed the healing at the Pool of Bethesda, the cleric insisted
that walking with knowledge and logic is always in opposition to what God requires for a new beginning which is the church’s theme for the month.
“No one that has ever walked with God has walked with knowledge and logic. Show me one person who has walked with God that used knowledge and logic. Yet we keep trying to bring newness into our lives with knowledge and logic,” he said during the service.
He continued, “Jesus said to the man,’ Rise up, take up your bed, and walk’. Did He not know that he had not walked for 35 years? Did He not know the state of his body? God knows the sum total of who you are,” the preacher added, saying, “We do not move by logic and knowledge because we move by revelation!”
According to the preacher, several people of faith in the scripture such as Abraham, Noah, Mary and even Joseph walked with revelation and not their logic.
“When it comes to new beginnings, you don’t move by knowledge and logic. You move by revelation because logic and knowledge will fail you,” Pastor Jimmy said.
He said walking with knowledge and logic limits God’s work in the lives of the believer. “When it comes to God, knowledge and logic become a limitation,” he told the congregation.
According to him, despite Abraham’s old age, he obeyed God’s instruction to leave his father’s homeland. That, to him, is a man who walked with God by faith (Gen 12:1-3). He said it was also the same with Noah who obeyed God by building an ark (Gen 6:9). He said walking in revelation and in the new beginning may look abnormal.
“Do not be surprised when you walk in your new beginning that you don’t look normal,” he said, asking the worshippers to key into the new beginning promised by God.
“We don’t move by logic and knowledge, we move by revelation,” Pastor Jimi
said.
