Pastor Dapo Williams at the July 28 Sunday second service emphasized the importance of the power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers as well as the benefits that accrue to them from partaking of the Holy Communion. According to him, the Holy Communion brings to the consciousness of a believer that he or she belongs to God thereby prospering in life by the strength of the Word of God through revelational knowledge.
Using the events that happened in Acts 20: 7-9, Genesis 14:1-17, Acts 27:35-36 and Luke 2:27-30 as illustrations, Pastor Dapo said that the communion table is a place to get calmness, courage, and strength to pray, noting that these are some of the benefits of partaking of the Holy Communion.
Still dwelling on the benefits of the Holy Communion, Pastor Dapo said that it gives peace of mind (1 Kings 19), joy (John 2:1-11), ability to activate miracles and reveal the enemies within a household (1 Kings 17 & John 13), and serves as judgment on the enemies of God’s children (Exodus 7:14-25).
He then enjoined the congregation to always turn to the Holy Communion when faced with situations that are tending towards shame and disgrace. “It makes you endure and binds relationships,” he said.
