January 5 Sunday service at The Fountain of Life Church was that of joy and moments of singing new songs to God even as declared by the Senior Pastor, Taiwo Odukoya, that 2020 is our year of A New Song. Pastor Taiwo in his message said that a new song is a fresh, spontaneous expression of worship and praise sung to God from the heart of dedicated worshippers, noting that it is a heart thing. “A new song is a song you sing from and in the spirit,” he said.
Speaking from the Book of Psalms 40:3; 33:1; 96:1; 98:1; 149:1; 144:9, he said that singing a new song is giving God what He deserves, mentioning that the only thing a believer can impress God with is a heart of worship. “When you sing, you are ascribing to Him glory and strength. You are declaring that He reigns eternally and God Himself gets attracted,” he said.
Pastor Taiwo further said from Zephaniah 3:17 that singing is the mode of communication in heaven, noting that God sings. He therefore urged Christians to relax in this year and always sing a new song because it commands God’s attention and makes Him to rejoice over them with joy and singing. “A singing heart is a joyful heart. It attracts people like magnet and commands favour and deliverance. So this year, sing,” he urged.
