Your purpose, which is locked in God, cannot be accessed until you start growing in God.
These were the words of Pastor Kunle Osunkunle, at the September 5 Sunday second service, held at The Fountain of Life Church, TFOLC, Ilupeju in Lagos State.
Pastor Osunkunle, who spoke on the “Necessity of Growth”, took his scripture from John 12:24-26.
According to him, “A Christian must realize that when he/she comes to life by accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, they become new. But to fully experience that newness of life, they must be willing to die.
“Such a believer must die to himself.
“The more we die to self, the more we grow and the more fruitful we become.”
While drilling down on the topic, Pastor Kunle Osunkunle referenced 2 Corinthians 4:16-17, saying that though our outward man dies, the inward man is renewed daily.
He explained that sometimes when something is dying, it is painful and may look like an affliction, but at the end of the day, it is working for the believer a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
“What dies and what lives cannot be compared; what lives is bigger than what dies,” the clergy hinted.
Pastor Kunle Osunkunle stressed the need for a believer to grow, explaining that one’s entry into Christ is not enough to sustain him or her through the path of life.
“Giving your life to Christ is just the beginning of the opening of that purpose which is locked in Him. You have to grow in God; you must relate with the Holy Spirit to receive and to grow into His fullness,” he stressed.
