Pastor Abiodun Soderu has told believers to show love at all times, maintaining that it is a sign that makes Christians stand out from the crowd.

His comment came during his sermon in the second service of Sunday, February 13, 2022, at The Fountain of Life Church (TFLOC), Ilupeju, Lagos State. He took his message from the centurion whose servant was healed by Jesus as recorded in Luke 7:4-10.

According to him, love is evident in the way Christians treat others, just as the centurion displayed his love towards his servant and sought healing for him.

The counsel to love was not the only critical point of the sermon as the preacher said respecting authority is honouring God because they represent God.

He explained that authority could be parents, bosses, husbands, or religious leaders. Anyone who disrespects those in authority over them disrespects God, which is tantamount to disobedience to His Word.

“The Bible says you should submit to your husband, not your perfect husband. It also says; honour your parents, not your faultless parents. People in authority do make mistakes, but we are Bible-believing people, and we live by the Word and not by way of the world.” he told the congregation.

Furthermore, the clergyman urged Christians to rely on God, noting that love is evident in the way they treat others, just as the centurion displayed his love towards his servant and sought healing for him. Citing Isaiah 40:7-8, he said the word of God is powerful.

“The word of God is causative and creative. Everything hears the word because we are wired by the Word. If you say it long enough, it will become flesh,” Pastor Abiodun Soderu added.
