Pastor Taiwo, in continuation of his admonition to believers not to stay glued to their past but move forward, said at the May 31 Sunday service that everyone born on earth has a purpose to fulfill but holding on to their past hurts or experiences would distract them from achieving that purpose.

“You have an assignment that you must accomplish; your life has a purpose and you will win your prize in fulfilling that assignment,” he said.

Restating Apostle Paul’s advice in Philippines 3:13-15; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 and Galatians 2:2, Pastor Taiwo said that life is a race which requires discipline in order to achieve accomplishment, noting that anger, unforgiveness and unworthy pleasure among many others are distractions from moving forward which must not be allowed.

“This race is a deliberate one and you must run intentionally so as to be able to win the prize,” he said.

Pastor Taiwo further said that the only reason one should look at the past is to get motivated to keep moving forward, noting that sticking too much on the past can make one lose focus of the beautiful future ahead.

“If you stick to the past so much, you will forget about the glorious tomorrow and you’ll get stuck,” he said.

He, therefore, admonished believers to keep moving forward because there are still more achievements to make in Christ Jesus.

“Let your yesterday be an inspiration to work today and a motivation for a greater tomorrow. Leaning on the past will always cause a problem for you. Learn from it, correct your wrongs and have the right attitude,” he urged.
